Rachel + Tony | Sugary Sweet Wedding
There’s nothing like photographing the wedding of your little sister’s childhood best friend to make you feel ancient. Rachel reminds me of Disney, Justin Timberlake, and sleepovers. I first met her when I was about 12 and she was in Kindergarten, and when I think of my sister’s childhood, it’s Rachel that pops into my mind.
The core of who she is has not changed since she was that cute little girl swimming in my backyard. She is gentle, joyful, and has an infectious laugh. Characteristics that made Tony fall for her in a hot second. Where Rachel soothes Tony, he gently pushes her to go outside her comfort zone. As her maid of honor Seychelle so wonderfully put it, Tony helps her realize the strength she carries within herself.
It’s an emotional strength that helped them survive Tony’s deployment. It’s a mental strength that enabled Rachel to hike to the top of a mountain with Tony while recovering from knee surgery. And it’s a quiet strength that allows her to inspire those around her with her infectious joy. Together, Tony and Rachel help each other become the best versions of themselves, and I say that’s just about the best you could ask for in a partner.
Their joyous wedding took place at Twin Oaks Garden Estate, where Rachel and Tony’s love of all things classic shined. From the soft and romantic floral arrangements by Flowers by Hilary, to the choreographed first dance, everything fit them perfectly.
